The Benton Police Department’s annual Citizens Police Academy will kick off Sept. 25, ushering in its 15th year of giving citizens an in-depth, first-hand look at what it’s like to be an officer. Applications and release forms are now available at 114 S. East St., Suite 100 or online at bentonpolice.org.
BNPD responded to a call of van vs. motorcycle accident on Military Road at approximately 3 p.m. Saturday. Medflight responded and transported one of the drivers to Baptist Health Little Rock, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Benton Police Department kicked off today its back-to-school campaign entitled “BNPD…Coming to a School Near You Aug. 15th.” This month-long initiative is a close relative of the kid-focused summer programs and will emphasize the presence of both school resource officers and patrol officers on Benton Public Schools campuses.
